Around 8:11 pm on Friday, June 23 BFD members responded to a reported structure fire in our district. County dispatch 60 Control received an Automatic Alarm followed closely by a 911 call reporting a fire in the house. Luckily this area of town is home to a number of BFD volunteers: one of our firefighters was able to run across the street and put the main body of fire out with an extinguisher. Members on arriving fire apparatus then checked for extension and set up fans to remove the smoke. Our EMS crew on ambulance 52-B1 evaluated the homeowners and found no need for medical attention. A great job was done by all and as always we extend our thanks to our friends Bedford Hills FD and Pound Ridge FD for their help.
