At 2:49 am on New Years Eve, both Bedford Fire and EMS crews were requested to respond to a reported motor vehicle accident with rollover and possible extrication in the area of Old Post Road (Route 121) and Stone Hill Road (Route 137).
Bedford Police were quick to respond, updating the location of the incident well into Route 137, between Millertown Road and Honey Hollow Road. Arriving members in Ambulance 52-B1 and Rescue 44 arrived to find a one-car rollover, with a single occupant that had been self-extricated. Bedford Police diminished traffic on Route 137 to a single lane, and the patient was packaged and immobilized for transport to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. A Westchester EMS 45-Medic was also on scene, and rode with Ambulance 52-B1 to the emergency room.
Rescue 44 remained on scene past 4 a.m. to light the area for removal of the car by the Bedford Shell service center flatbed. Additional fluids and debris were cleaned up, and all Bedford units returned to service by 04:30 hours.
