| On Sunday May 25th, several members of the Bedford Fire Department "Fire Prevention" team made their way to the first annual J.I.M.M.Y. Foundation "muster" at Fireman's Field in Somers, New York. The foundation was created by the Arena family after the loss of their son James to an illness in 2005, and aims to help sick children across the lower Hudson Valley and their families.
Musters are an old favorite among fire departments, where antique apparatus is displayed and judged, and other events such as tug-of-war, bucket brigade, and midnight alarm are held. This muster also hosted a number of local craft vendors, display of new Westchester apparatus, a dunk tank, and the Bedford Fire Department Fire Safety Trailer. Kids enjoyed practicing kitchen safety, dialing 911, stranger danger, and E.D.I.T.H (Exit Drills In The Home).
