New Car 2041, Now In Service

The latest addition to our Bedford Fire Department fleet, we recently acquired our new Fire Chief's vehicle, "Car 2041," which has just been placed in service. This vehicle replaces one of our three Chief vehicles, two of which were early 2000's Chevrolet Tahoes, and one Chevrolet pick-up truck.

This new 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe was acquired from Ramp Chevrolet on Long Island, and outfitted with radios and electronic equipment by MetroCom Inc. in Bedford Hills. Additionally, Pulsoni Custom Installations in Sleepy Hollow installed the lights, and Welsh Signs in Bedford Hills provided the graphics.

There are several features and improvement that have been added to the vehicle, such as the additional side and rear tailgate LED lights, that provide extra visibility and safety when operating on a call. The car also comes with a rear command stack of radios, a Knox-box key release, full center control console, high visibility striping and lights, a trailer package, and first response medical supplies for our EMS calls. It also features the first ever www.bedfordfire.com website logo to be printed on any Bedford Fire Department vehicle.

The new 2041 is now in service with our new Chief, Joanne Aquilino.
