Although it may have been Friday the 13th, that did not stop the Bedford Fire Department from having their annual Inspection Dinner. Each year, members within our department are assigned to a truck for inspection. During the week prior to the dinner, the members assigned work together on their apparatus to have the cleanest and tidiest truck (yielding an award). Everything from painting axes to washing equipment has to be done in order to get the most points out of the county judges. While everyone put in hours of work, Foreman Stacy Brown of Engine 110 took home the grand prize. Thanks to Stacy and her crew, Engine 110 now has one of the best looking buff and polish jobs in the county (and a new trophy).

Following the inspection of the apparatus, members from the fire departments of Bedford, Pound Ridge, Armonk, Ossining and surrounding areas went inside to eat a delicious meal. Towards the end of the night, certain Bedford Fire Department members received "member of the year" awards. The annual awards are presented in the following categories: Firefighter, EMT, Rookie, Ex-Chief and Junior Corps. (This years recipients as well as those in years past can be viewed under awards in the membership section.)

In the end, everything went as planned, and the dinner was considered a success. Our Chiefs as well as the entire Bedford Fire Department would like to extend our thanks to those who attended. Also, a big thank you to the Armonk Fire Department, who served as our mutual aid during the inspection.
