At 9:31 p.m. on Friday September 6th, the Bedford Fire Department was dispatched to a reported serious motor vehicle accident in the area of Clark Road on South Bedford Road.

Car 2041 established command near Sunnyfield Farm and determined two vehicles had met on the centerline at a high rate of speed. The force of the impact pushed the vehicles several hundred feet from each other and created a large debris field.

Our Ambulance 52-B1 crew began stabilizing a patient from one vehicle with a WEMS paramedic, while Rescue 44 arrived at the second vehicle to perform a "door pop". Mount Kisco VAC and a second paramedic were called to the scene to treat the second patient. Both patients were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital.

Due to the nature of the accident, Bedford Police requested their accident investigation team to the scene and had BFD remain to perform lighting and traffic duties. After a full reconstruction, the vehicles and debris were cleared, and units returned to service at around 12:45 a.m.
