| Even though Thanksgiving has just passed, the holiday season has just begun. On Sunday, November 26th, the Bedford Fire Department took part in decorating Bedford's Holiday Tree located on the Village Green. Due to the height of the tree, Mt. Kisco Union Hook and Ladder Company's Tower Ladder 14, a 90 foot Sutphen aerial, was brought in to help light the top half of the tree. Because of the space required to set up the truck, parts of Route 22 were temporarily blocked off to traffic. It was quite the spectacle to see the truck towering over the green, and some even stopped by to watch!
Just as the last of the lights were put onto the tree, members of the Bedford Fire Department were dispatched on an inside smoke investigation, responding in Engine 109 and Engine 110. The situation was deemed a false alarm, and all units were quickly returned back to quarters.
*The tree lighting ceremony will be on Friday night, December 1st, on the Village Green. |
