| During the early morning hours on Friday, December 27th, the Bedford Fire Department was requested mutual aid on a working fire assignment to 8 Hobby Farm Drive in Banksville's Fire District. Multiple calls were received just after 3 a.m. reporting heavy fire from the front and rear of the structure. Arriving Car 2581 confirmed the fire and requested a first alarm assignment.
Both Engine 108 and Engine 109 arrived quickly on the scene and went to work. Engine 108 assisted in completing a lay of 5" with Engine 157 to a water source, and the Engine 109 crew went to work stretching and manning additional lines on the sides and rear of the building. A blitz fire monitor was also set up on the "C" side of the building.
Crews faced tremendous challenges with a fully involved structure on arrival and 15 degree weather. Bedford crews assisted Banksville well into the daylight hours, and went back into service just before noon. The cause of the fire is under investigation. |
