Recently, members of the Bedford Fire Department attended the Westchester Regional EMS Council (WREMSCO) Annual EMS Awards. At this event, hundreds of local police, fire and EMS personnel were honored for their contributions to the EMS system. Among those receiving awards was the Bedford Fire Department's CIC (Certified Instructor Coordinator), Erik Peffers. Erik received EMS Educator of Excellence and is the Bedford Fire Department's EMS Instructor for the continuing EMS education program.

At the same awards ceremony, Bedford Fire Department Captain Graham Glauber, Firefighter/EMT Zachary Grossbaum, and Firefighter/EMT Jerome Newman received EMS Citations for their efforts on a serious EMS call in August of 2013.
