On the night of December 12th, Bedford Fire and EMS were dispatched to the area of Stone Hill Road and Old Post Road for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries. Arriving Car 2042 located a single vehicle off the roadway with heavy damage in the "swamp" area on Route 121, just south of the Stone Hill Road intersection.

Crews from Ambulance 52-B1 and Rescue 44 assisted in removing the patient through the roof of the SUV and packaged them for transport to Northern Westchester Hospital. Fluids and debris were swept from the roadway, and NYS DOT was on location to help remove a tree downed by the involved vehicle.

The roadway remained closed for an extended period of time as the SUV was removed from the woods and taken from the scene.
