Bedford Fire Department responded with two of its neighbors today for two different calls. The first call was for a reported Electrical Outlet Smoking, on arrival we found an electric baseboard heater that had malfunctioned and melted down the wiring. FD units quickly confirmed the breaker had tripped and checked for extension. Bedford Hills Tower Ladder and Pound Ridge's Tanker were dispatched on the initial alarm. The second call was originally dispatch for South Bedford Rd and Chestnut Ridge Rd for a car into the woods. This call was dual dispatched for Bedford Hills and Bedford. Chief Carmody arrived and confirmed it was a roll-over from South Bedford Rd into the woods near Snyders Hill Rd. Both departments responded and Chief Dennett from Bedford Hills Took Command. One person was transported by Bedford Ambulance to NWHC.
