First Annual Youth Program Friendship Night

On the night of Saturday, March 31, 2007, the Bedford Fire Department Youth Program hosted its first annual friendship night. While friendship nights have been held for many years by the main bodies of many fire departments, including Bedford, it is quite rare for a Youth Program to host one.

At around 7:00 pm, guests from Bedford Hills Fire Department arrived, and members of the Bedford and Bedford Hills Youth Programs sat down to a dinner of pasta, meatballs and salad prepared by the Bedford Fire Department Kitchen Committee.

Following dinner, the two junior corps went down to the basement of Bedford's firehouse to bowl on four lanes. Both engaged in several games of competitive, yet friendly bowling, and by the end of the night, all were smiling.

At around 11:00 pm, it was time to say good night, and everybody returned home. Although this was the first time the JYouth Program had hosted such an event, it will certainly not be the last.

Special thanks to the Bedford Fire Department and the Kitchen Committee, Chief Matt Halpin (our "pin chaser"), as well as the Bedford Hills Youth program for attending the event.
