At 11:57 a.m., Banksville Fire was dual dispatched with Armonk's Tanker to 31 Smith Farm Road for a reported structure fire. There was only one call into 60 control dispatch, until Banksville Engine 158 arrived first due and called for the 10-75 assignment, with fire coming from the windows and attached garage in a residence.

Car 2043 had just cleared a previous EMS call in our district, and was already en route to the fire before dispatch. On arrival he stretched the interior attack line with Armonk firefighters to make an aggressive push from the second floor to keep the fire contained over the garage. Engine 109 was requested on the initial assignment, and arrived as the second due engine. All 1100 feet of 5 inch supply was laid out from the fire scene to the intersection of Hissarlik Way, where Engine 109 acted as the relay/supply engine for the scene, drafting from portable ponds.

Engine 109 crews continued with interior attack, venting and overhaul operations during the fire. During the interior attack one of our firefighters was injured and was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by Armonk EMS with an ankle injury.

Ambulance 52-B1 was requested to the scene as an additional ambulance for transport and rehab operations.

All supply hose was rolled and packed onto Banksville's trailer, and repacked at Banksville FD with the assistance of Mount Kisco and Katonah FD, on standby at their station.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
