On Tuesday, October 5th at 4:23 p.m., Bedford Fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the area of 100 Chestnut Ridge Road for a reported car vs. motorcycle with active fire and traumatic injuries.

All three chiefs arrived on scene quickly and found one motorcycle in the roadway fully involved. The injured rider was brought into a neighboring driveway where Bedford EMS and Westchester EMS treated and packaged them. They were transported with serious injuries to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. A van involved in the accident was also located at the scene, with no injuries to the occupants.

The fire was partially knocked down with cans on arrival, and a hose line stretched by Engine 110. Crews remained to handle traffic and scene clean up, re-opening the roadway after an hour.
