At 01:52 a.m., the Bedford Fire Department was dispatched to Trudy Lane for a reported laundry room fire, called in by the occupants.

Arriving Car 2042 found smoke showing from the structure, and called for the working fire assignment. Car 2041 and 2043 assisted in initial size up of the scene, and made an attack with the arriving crew on Engine 110. Supply line was laid from the cul-de-sac to the engine, however less than a tank of water was used to extinguish. Pound Ridge Tanker 3 and Banksville Tanker 7 responded to the scene for additional water resources.

The main body of fire was located in the basement/garage area of the house; all visible fire was knocked down within minutes. The house was systematically checked and vented, and electrical panel isolated. Arriving truck company member from Bedford Hills TL-57 assisted with opening up walls above the fire and additional ventilation work.

The fire was investigated by Cause and Origin Zone 5, and NYSEG isolated power to the structure. The displaced occupants were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

Members re-secured the house and assisted in salvage operations, tarping broken windows to minimize any further damage. The fire was believed to be electrical in nature.
