On Tuesday, December 7th, Bedford Fire and EMS crews were alerted to a motor vehicle accident in the area of mile marker 12.2 northbound on Interstate 684.

Arriving units found a Hyundai SUV rolled over and upside down on the shoulder, with a large debris field in the right lane of the highway. The sole occupant had self extricated on our arrival, and was transported to Westchester Medical Center with minor injuries by Ambulance 52-B2.

The surrounding area was checked with a thermal imaging camera to ensure no other occupants were in the vehicle. The rescue crew removed all debris from the area, helped the owner recover all personal belongings thrown from the car, and closed off the right lane of the highway while Reliable Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

This was our second car accident on the Interstate in 24 hours; we handled a minor motor vehicle accident at 11.8 southbound the night previous.
