Just after 7 am on Memorial Day, members of the Bedford Fire Department along with Katonah and Bedford Hills Fire Departments were respond to a possible structure fire at 30 Davids Hill Road. Chief Matthew Halpin along with the arrival of a Bedford Hills chief confirmed a working fire in a pool house, and re-toned for additional equipment and manpower.

In minutes, Engine 109 was able to pull close to the structure and lay attack lines while Bedford Hills' Tanker 5 set up a portable pond. The immidiate area had insufficient water capabilities, additional tankers were added to the shuttle. Engine 110 provided water supply at a near by source. Engine 108 provided the relay from the portable pond to Engine 109. Additionally, a Mt. Kisco FAST (firefighter assist and search team) responded to help at the scene.

The structure was fully involved and experienced significant damage and collapse before the fire was reported. Firefighters were able to control and extinguish the remaining blaze in just under a half an hour, and the Zone 5 Cause and Origin Team was called to investigate the origin. Additionally, a representative from NYSEG was on hand to locate the electrical system and cut power to the structure.

According to investigators, the fire appeared accidental. All Bedford units cleared the scene around 10:15 to return for the Memorial Day Parade, and mutual aid was returned with "thanks".
