Just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2nd, members of the Bedford Fire Department were alerted to a reported head-on collision with injuries in front of 465 Old Post Road, just before the traffic light at the Greenwich Road intersection.

Members already available at the firehouse donned their gear and made a quick response in both Rescue 44 and Ambulance 52-B1. Upon arrival, two cars were found disabled in the roadway with all the occupants out and on the sidewalk. EMS crews attended to two patients with minor injuries, and as a precaution, packaged and transported both to Northern Westchester Hospital.

Meanwhile, the arriving crew on Engine 110 helped those on Rescue 44 to pop the hoods and cut the battery cables on both vehicles. Due to the large amount of fluid spilled, several containers of Speedy Dry were used in cleaning up the roadway. Also, the generator and lighting system on Rescue 44 was utilized to help Bedford Police document the scene.

The cars were removed by JV Autobody and Northern Westchester Autobody of Bedford Hills.

All units cleared the scene at approximately 20:50 hours.
