During the evening commute home on December 17th, members of the Bedford Fire Department were alerted to respond to a reported motor vehicle accident with extrication near the intersection of Gordon Avenue and Old Post Road.

Car 2042 and a passing Vista Fire Department member were first on scene to find a Ford Mustang rolled over the shoulder, resting on two wheels against a fence and tree with a negative extrication. Crews from Ambulance 52-B1 and Rescue 44 arrived shortly there after, determining the best way to remove the occupants from the vehicle was with the help of a tow truck. Following precautionary measures to protect the occupants from glass and debris, a flatbed from the Bedford Shell Station was contacted and utilized to slowly and carefully move the vehicle back onto four wheels.

The two patients had very minor injuries, and were transported for evaluation to Northern Westchester Hospital. Old Post Road was reopened and all Bedford units returned to service in under an hour.
