| At around 9:20 a.m. on the morning of January 5th, a mid-road collision occurred between a Chevrolet Suburban and Honda Accord in front of 24 Middle Patent Road. Residents that had heard the accident called 911, dispatching Bedford Police and Fire Department members to the scene.
Because the accident occurred over the middle of the road blocking access to the firehouse, several department members were first on scene in their personal vehicles to provide emergency medical care. Ambulance 52-B1 later made its way to the scene with a medic from Westchester EMS to board and collar two patients with very minor injuries.
Both patients were transported by Ambulance 52-B1 with ALS on board to Northern Westchester Hospital. Flatbeds from both the Bedford Shell Station and Pratow were on scene to remove the disabled vehicles from the roadway. The force of the collision sent the Accord onto a stonewall adjacent to the accident scene, causing minor property damage to a Middle Patent Road residence.
All Bedford units returned to service around 10:00 a.m. |
