| As the annual St. Patrick's Carnival came into town for the week, Bedford EMS crews were on heightened alert due to the popularity and large number of people in attendance each night. On Saturday, May 17th, Ambulance 52-B1 stood by at the carnival with a crew handing out fire hats and showing kids around our new ambulance. After a long day of candy apples and fried dough, as well as an EMS call just outside of the carnival, some members decided to try out the "Rip Cord" and then call it a night.
The next morning, Bedford EMS crews were back on standby for the annual Pegasus Horse Show, held at Coker Farm on Stone Hill Road. Pegasus provides therapeutic riding to physically, emotionally, and developmentally challenged individuals in New York and Connecticut. In addition to the riding segment of the show there were raffles and a unique-to-the-program "costume parade," where the rider, team, and horse dress up as a theme. A great time was had by all!
