On July 4th, at 7:25 pm, Bedford Police, KBHVAC, Katonah Fire, and a WEMS Medic were dispatched to the area of 49 Girdle Ridge Road for a reported head on motor vehicle collision with extrication.
Following an initial size up of the accident, it was determined that no extrication would be needed; however, the number of patients required an additional ambulance for transport.
Arriving Bedford Ambulance 52-B1 members aided in the packaging and immobilization of the third patient involved; all three were transported ALS to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York. Katonah Fire Department members remained on location to remove debris from the roadway and divert traffic around the scene while the vehicles were removed.
