| Although it may have been only a week since our parade, that didn't stop the Bedford Fire Department from throwing another party! Thanks to the efforts of Ex-Chief Paul Aquilino and Foreman Donna Orrico , the BFD hosted a wildly successful (and the first of its' kind) car show and block party on the eve of Friday, August, 1st.
The event featured cars, trucks, and motorcycles from all across the area, utilizing Bedford Village as a display for the vehicles. Anyone and everyone who attended the event was handed a ballot to vote on their favorites in each of the pre-determined categories.
And, of course, what would a block party be without great food and music? Hotdogs, hamburgers, and an assortment of other foods were prepared and served courtesy of Bedford fire department.
Dr. C and the Allstar Band, the live entertainment for the night, kept many singing and dancing behind the firehouse into the early hours of the morning.
To conclude the events, the first and second place awards in the "best hot rod", "best motorcycle" and the "best appearing" categories were announced. Who knows, maybe this entertaining and successful event may be the start of a new Bedford Fire Department tradition! |
