| The Bedford Village Fire Department is competing in this year's Tackle Trump Parc in Stamford, CT on Saturday, November 6, 2010. The event is to benefit and raise funds for the American Lung Association's program "Fight For Air." The department is competing in the Firefighters division and requires all team members to wear full bunker gear (boots, pants, coat, helmet and air pack) which weighs approximately 60 pounds while climbing the stairs for 34 floors.
There are awards for fastest overall firefighter, fastest average team time and most team members.
The department has a goal to collect some of these awards, but their main motivation is to raise funds for the cause. The department is trying to raise $10,000, they have a good start, but still need help in achieving that goal. Pledges can be submitted through the American Lung Association via the following link:
