On the afternoon of January 25th, members of the Bedford Fire Department were requested to stand by for a film shoot at a residence in our district.
Set builders had constructed two sides of a mock barn, to be smoked out and eventually burned down. After a few takes with just the smoke, set hands ignited the building, and the camera crews worked quickly to get their shots from all angles.
Our members remained on scene to extinguish any hot spots after the fire.
This particular shot was set up to mimic the burning of a barn in northern Virginia, during an event that occurred in 1865. |
