| Just after 11:00 pm on the night of October 26th, Bedford Police received the report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Bedford Road (Route 172) and Baldwin Road. Arriving officers updated the dispatch finding two vehicles with air bag deployment and the drivers with minor injuries; the Bedford Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
After an apparent "sideswipe" collision over the center of the road, one driver was transported for evaluation to Northern Westchester Hospital by Ambulance 52-B1 while the other declined medical attention. Flatbeds from Pratow and Reliable Towing, both of Bedford Hills, were on scene to remove the involved vehicles.
Less than 24 hours later, Bedford Police and Fire Department were dispatched to the "curve" exiting the Village on Old Post Road (Route 22) for a MVA with rollover where Guard Hill Road and Old Post Road meet.
Upon arrival an SUV was found off the side of the road with the sole occupant out of the vehicle. Rescue 44 limited traffic to one lane as a tow truck removed the vehicle from the scene. The apparent force of the rollover caused the front tire (brake and spring assembly included) to break off of the axle and land up the embankment.
Units cleared the scene and returned to service in under an hour. |
