| Just before 7:30 a.m. on December 5th, 60 Control received multiple calls for a fully involved car fire at the beginning of Baldwin Road, directly across from the "construction entrance" at Fox Lane High School. Arriving Bedford Police units confirmed the vehicle fire as Car 2042, Engine 109, and Engine 110 made their way through the packed rush hour traffic on Route 172.
Pre-connected lines from both Engine 109 and Engine 110 were stretched, using a combination of water and foam to extinguish the blaze. The driver, who had pulled off the road due to an odor in his vehicle, stopped the car just in time.
Remaining pockets of fire and hot spots were extinguished, and the car was towed from the scene.
Battalion 16 was in the area at the time of the call, and was able to snap the "hot shots" you see below. |
